Please read the 4 page letter, beginning on page 5 of the agenda, from the Santa Fe County Attorney regarding the modifications made by the Town to a mutually agreed upon form for the ordinance that would have approved the Fire and EMS agreement between Santa Fe County and The Town of Edgewood.
The Agreement is jeopardized by the changes made in a unilateral decision by the Town and it seems that the Town could now unable to ratify the original ordinance by the end of June when the original agreement is set to expire. In this letter the SFCo. Attourney is clear that there is going to be an exit by the County should the Town fail in its duty to complete the agreed tasks the it committed to when the agreement was signed.
Once again in a stunning display of arrogance and disregard for life and property the Town Government has threatened its residents with dire consequences in its actions and has deliberately put many people at risk of loosing life, limb, or property.
If this doesn’t show that there is a fundamental problem with governance, and that we need to act to remove the problem, then we have crossed into a very dark and dangerous place. Please join the movement to disincorporate and help to remove an undesireable layer of government which is creating chaos and mayhem without regard.
