Effective date: August 20, 2026

Reboot Edgewood (“we”, “us”) is a campaign of Edgewood residents petitioning the Board of County Commissioners of Santa Fe County to conduct a special election on the question of disincorporating the municipality of Edgewood, New Mexico. This policy explains what information this website collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain language because that is how we would want it explained to us.

Information we collect

When you sign the petition

If you sign the petition on this site, we collect the information the petition requires and the records needed to show your signature is genuine:

  • The date you signed
  • Your name as printed on your voter registration
  • Your address as registered
  • Your email address and phone number
  • The signature you draw on the signing page
  • Your agreement to use electronic records and signatures, with the date and time you accepted it
  • Technical details of your submission: your IP address and browser information

Each signature is stored with tamper-evident integrity records (cryptographic hashes) that let us prove the petition text you saw and that no record has been altered afterward.

By signing the petition, you consent to receive email from us, including a confirmation and updates about the disincorporation effort. You can opt out at any time (see “Your choices” below).

When you sign up for email updates

We collect your name, email address, ZIP code, whether you live inside the Edgewood town limits, and the technical details of your submission (IP address and browser information).

Automatically

Like nearly all websites, our servers and our network provider keep routine access logs (pages requested, IP address, browser type, and time). We use these only to operate and secure the site. We do not use analytics or advertising services, and we do not track you across other websites.

How we use your information

  • To assemble and submit the disincorporation petition to Santa Fe County officials
  • To verify that signers are registered voters in Edgewood and to prevent duplicate or fraudulent signatures
  • To send you a confirmation email and campaign updates
  • To operate, secure, and improve this website

We do not sell personal information. We do not share it for advertising. Ever.

Who we share it with

  • County and state officials. The petition, including signer names, addresses, dates, and signatures, will be provided to Santa Fe County officials as part of the formal petition process. Petition records submitted to the government may become public records under New Mexico law.
  • Service providers. We send email through Google Workspace (Google LLC). Website traffic passes through Cloudflare, which provides security and content delivery for this site. When you type in the address field on the signing form, the text is sent to Google Maps Platform (Google LLC) to return address suggestions. These providers process data only to provide their services to us.
  • Legal requirements. We will disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or court order.

Cookies

This site uses only essential cookies, and for most visitors none at all.

We use no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies, and no tracking of any kind. Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, the site does not require a cookie consent banner; the notice we show is for transparency.

How long we keep information

Petition signature records are kept for the duration of the disincorporation effort and any legal review of the petition, as they are the evidence that the signatures are valid. Because the records are tamper-evident, a withdrawn or invalid signature is marked void rather than erased, so the integrity of the remaining records can still be proven. Pledge and update sign-up information is kept until the campaign concludes or you ask us to remove it.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS. Signature records are hash-chained so any alteration is detectable. Access to signer information is limited to campaign site administrators.

Your choices

  • Email. You can ask us to stop sending you updates at any time.
  • Access and correction. You can ask what information we hold about you and ask us to correct it.
  • Withdrawing a signature. If you signed the petition and change your mind before the petition is submitted to the county, contact us and we will mark your signature void. After submission, withdrawal is governed by the county’s petition process.

For any of these, email us at [email protected].

Children

This site is intended for registered voters and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update it here with a new effective date. Material changes will be noted on the home page.
