Since the meeting agenda and packet information seems to have gone unpublished….. If you missed the meeting you are not alone!
The Edgewood P&Z Commission held a meeting that was both unpublished and which not only raises grave questions about the present disarray in Town Government but also presents the Town significant legal issues. There was a clear and obvious Open Meetings Act violation, there were blatant issues with proper notification of parties to zoning changes that may cost the Town later on when perhaps some of the effected parties realize they had no say in changes that effect them and their properties, and that they had not been properly notified of the meeting.
With two Commissioners absent and an alternate sitting in for one of the missing Commissioners, as well as a new Town employee sitting in for the Planning and Zoning Director who resigned. Please watch the meeting video and witness the disarray and disorganization which permeates the meeting – and the anger expressed by one of the people attempting to do business, to make changes to property –
hear the resulting commentary on the P&Z meeting from the point of view of the person seeking a change and who has spent time and money only to be frustrated by endless bungles and delays.
What does it really mean when people say “we need to keep our local governance”, when it is local governance that stands in the way of people getting things done, or helping to build our community? Is our local government the reason for the lack of growth and stifled prosperity that southern Santa Fe County has seen? This sure seems like direct evidence of that assumption.
